The owner of a fast food restaurant near Catherine Street who did not want to be identified said that he had a few problems with the girls. Limerick Councillor and former Mayor Maria Byrne said that she had received a number of complaints about the issue and she had met with gardai to tackle them.
They also will be banned from the area for two years. Many of the women that we meet during outreach have been prosecuted for soliciting or loitering. An anti-human trafficking expert has warned that our attitudes towards prostitution need to change. He explained that many people still have false ideas about prostitution and do not see it as abuse.
