I hadn't realised that Rimini had such a historical heart. The city centre is an attractive collection of ancient Roman remains and medieval buildings amassed about the two main squares of Piazza Cavour and the Piazza Tre Martiri. There's the Tiberius bridge and the Arch Rimini is a city that you will never forget. Don't actually know much about this city.
Didn't even see photos of it. I just saw on map that it's close to Ravenna, San Marino, and plan to use it as a base. But city deserves more atention itself.
It also have great history, nice You are missing a lot if you do not visit the historic centre of Rimini. Get a booklet from the tourist office in the railway station and explore the Roman city. You can visit ruins of the Amphitheater and the Surgeon's House. The Arch of Many years ago it was the capital of tourism. Today is a pile of rubbish. You get to the train station, and want a taxi. If you wait in the taxi area you can wait forever, for some reason the taxis decided to stop at The ice cream is especially delicious there, shopping is great too.
We wandered into Rimini centre to find a lovely restaurant for dinner. We arrived around 7 pm to find that the restaurants were just opening. The city centre is very picturesque.
We shall return to spend more time to explore. BTW the restaurant we ended Rimini has a nice city centre with a lot of shops and nice restaurants. The pedestrian street makes it more accessible too. To a first-time visitor, reaching the "Rimini centro", as is popularly known instead of being its official name which is "Piazza Tre Martiri" is nearly the same as reaching the two most important local Roman monuments in the form of "Arco di Augusto" and "Ponte Profile JOIN.
